O higrostato eletromecânico foi projetado para controlar aquecedores de gabinete de forma que o ponto de orvalho aumente quando uma umidade relativa crítica de 65% for excedida. Desta forma, a condensação e a corrosão em invólucros com componentes eléctricos/electrónicos são eficazmente evitadas.
